Far from the bustle of towns, Okina, a humble bamboo cutter, labored daily in the forest, slicing hollow stalks. One evening he uncovered a tiny infant nestled within a radiant shoot; convinced it was a celestial princess bestowed upon Earth, he carried the child home. Together with his wife Ouna, they raised her as their own, watching her sprout into a spirited girl. Naming her Kaguya, she blended seamlessly into village life, sharing adventures with other children and savoring the joys of youth.
Yet when Okina stumbled upon a hidden cache of gold and jewels deep within the woods, Kaguya"s world shifted dramatically. Thinking it another heavenly boon, he resolved to elevate his daughter into true royalty, moving the family to a grand estate in the capital. As she departed familiar friends for an imposed courtly existence, Kaguya"s true origins and destiny began to unravel.
