When a sudden thunderstorm strikes, Mei, a young goat, has no choice but to seek shelter inside an abandoned barn. Shortly thereafter, he is joined by another creature—a wolf named Gabu. The night is pitch‑black; neither can see the other's features, yet they quickly become companions as they chat for hours, promising to meet again.
When Mei and Gabu reunite in daylight, a dilemma arises: one would normally see the other as predator and prey. Nevertheless, they vow to remain friends and begin meeting in secret. As their friendship deepens, the families learn of it, forcing Mei and Gabu to wonder if their bond is truly worth risking everything. They both realize that love can transcend natural instincts, but the cost of defying their kin remains uncertain.
