Kadukihiko Aikawa is a joker and restless person—he serves as captain and the team"s leading scorer for Tendoji, champions of Japan in the senior high school category. However, after a disagreement with the coach he decided to leave the prestigious club and change his residence, as well as his school. In his new school in Midzuko, the boy immediately intended to join the school"s basketball club, but to his surprise he learned that the junior team had not been functioning for almost a year, although the girls" team has been the county champion for many years. The reason is that a past conflict between the leading player and an authoritarian coach led to a scandal, which ended with the strong Midzuko junior team being suspended from competition for a year; after the graduation of the senior class, only four basketball players remained in the entire school. Aikawa"s arrival fundamentally changed the situation—his cheerful disposition, perseverance, and passionate love for basketball melted the ice in the hardened hearts of former players. With the active support of the girls" basketball players and the wise coach Kyoko Himuro, Midzuko"s junior team was revived, striving to reclaim what was lost. And now, with league star Aikawa Kadukihiko in its ranks, the dream of competing for a national championship no longer seems so unattainable...
