After relocating to a charming coastal village, Hina Tsurugi and her family settle into their new home. Eager to enjoy the tranquil sea, Hina encounters Yuuki Kuroiwa—an upperclassman at her school—who invites her to go fishing together. While reeling in an octopus, the creature drops onto Hina; terrified of insects and large animals, she panics and pleads with Yuuki to take it off her. Yuuki interprets this as a chance to compel Hina into the school's Breakwater Club, where members gather, haul in, and feast on various sea creatures.
Despite repeatedly declining, Hina gradually discovers the hidden pleasure of angling. Her perception shifts, and she now looks forward to all the enjoyable moments she can share with her new clubmates. Together with her classmates, she learns to appreciate the rhythm of tides and the camaraderie that comes from sharing caught fish.
