Three years earlier, a ravenous interdimensional species called the Disas burst onto Earth and annihilated everything within their reach. Conventional armaments proved futile, so humanity"s last line of defense depended on ordinary people who transformed into magical girls after forging a pact with the Spirit Realm, which had followed the Disas to our planet. Following a brutal showdown, the team of enchanted warriors prevailed, and those who survived earned the title "Magical Five."
After the conflict with the Disas concluded, the Magical Five dissolved. Kurumi Mugen, Mia Cyrus, Tamara Volkova, and Lau Peipei went on to serve in separate military units, while their commander Asuka Ootorii stepped down and enrolled as a high‑school student in an effort to blend into civilian life. Yet her respite was brief, for evidence emerged that some of the enemy had survived and their plans were still unfolding. Since battles must be met with magic, Asuka was pulled back into action as an even greater war approaches, the stakes having never been higher.
