Thirty years after the original Youkai Watch series, a legend unfolds. Once there was an eleven‑year‑old named Keita Amano who possessed a wristwatch that could command Youkai. He befriended spirits and performed countless acts of kindness. Yet as he matured, his sight for Youkai faded, and the watch"s power threatened to upset harmony between humans and spirits. Consequently it was hurled into oblivion, beyond time and space, leaving only whispers of its existence. Decades later, a malevolent Youkai virus called Onimaro erupted, infecting people with wicked intent and converting them into Kaodeka Oni. The city spiraled into chaos. With disaster looming, only those selected by a new Youkai Watch can confront the menace and rescue both worlds from annihilation.
