High‑school biology teacher Tetsuo Takahashi may seem like a typical educator, but beneath his calm exterior lies an unusual obsession: the Ajin, or Demi. These half‑human, half‑beast entities have quietly woven themselves into everyday life, yet Takahashi feels that most of their secrets will remain concealed unless he encounters them personally.
The series 'Demi-chan wa Kataritai' chronicles Takahashi"s daily routine at Shibasaki High School, where he mentors three Demi pupils—Hikari Takanashi, a spirited vampire; Kyouko Machi, a gentle dullahan; and Yuki Kusakabe, the shy snow‑woman. Alongside them, he meets fellow teacher Sakie Satou, a succubus who harbors an aversion to men. Driven by curiosity, Takahashi arranges informal conversations with the girls to delve into their abilities, inner lives, and how they navigate human society.
