In the world of Houkago no Pleiades, the sky is truly boundless. Subaru, clutching her trusty telescope, makes her way to the school"s observation room with hopes of witnessing that night"s spectacular meteor shower. Instead of a canopy of glittering stars, she is met with an unexpected sight: behind the observatory"s door lies a sumptuous garden, complete with a crystal‑clear fountain and a mysterious young man whose long crimson hair glints in the moonlight.
The garden dissolves almost instantly, as if it were a mirage. All that remains is an odd, springy blob creature that lures her toward another shimmering portal. Inside, she finds a circle of girls dressed in enchanted witch‑like garments. One by one, the truths unravel: the girl beside her is Aoi, her childhood friend; the blob is actually an alien from the Pleiadian species longing to return home; and Subaru has been chosen by this being to join their ranks.
Subaru"s lifelong dream of the cosmos finally becomes reality in a wildly fantastical way. With her new allies, she sets out to locate scattered pieces of a Pleiadian spacecraft engine needed to escort the alien back across the stars. Yet other forces pursue the same components, and no one can explain why.
