Well, the main character of Ookiku Furikabutte, Ren Mikashi, a brilliant pitcher, no longer wants to play baseball at all. He was the star of his previous school"s team, which his grandfather had trained. The other players in the team didn"t like Mikashi, and the team couldn"t achieve success. Mikashi took the blame upon himself, convinced himself that he was useless, and decided that he would no longer pick up a ball. Later he is transferred to Nisiura High School, and unexpectedly he ends up on the local baseball team. Mikashi, immersed in his inner turmoil, barely has time to understand how the local catcher Takai Abe manages to persuade him to make a few trial throws. That will be enough for both the team captain and the coach to realize: such talent cannot be buried. Yet Mikashi still doesn"t want to play. He continues not to believe in his abilities, panics, gets overwhelmed by praise, and hides in the bushes when he fails.
