In the year 972 A.D., Kyoto, Japan"s ancient capital, was deteriorating into a city of corruption and decay. Selfish samurai and onmyoji obsessed with political dominance roamed its streets, while famine and disease ravaged the populace. The Imperial Court could no longer stand by and dispatched Minamoto no Raiko, a renowned archer famed for his prowess, to retrieve a legendary gem believed to possess the power to save the world. Yet Raiko soon fell ill with the same plague. Determined, his youngest sister Hikaru secretly set out in his stead. The journey takes her through treacherous mountains, over misty rivers, and into villages where whispers of the gem"s power echo. Each encounter tests her resolve, revealing allies and foes alike.
