After fleeing the zombie‑infested mainland, Takashi Komuro and his crew arrive on a secluded island off Tokonosu City"s shoreline. While hunting for provisions, they discover a modest coastal hut that offers them garments and shelter for the night. Following a day of gathering sustenance, they set about cooking their haul.
While sitting by the fire, a faint mist starts to drift around them and induces nausea. Realizing it stems from hydrangeas—a toxic plant that can trigger hallucinations, the party tries to flee the intense scent. They realize the danger, quickly move deeper into the island"s interior, hoping to find a safer spot and breathe freely.
