The summer of a man's boyhood memories persists. Still perched on the brink between youth and adulthood, he has bonded with the specter of a young woman from the World War II era. She, along with other youthful ghosts of that period, continues to explore adventures with their bonded partners, discovering more about one another and journeying through time via their ethereal link. While he battles to see his affection for her materialize, his friend—a peer who masquerades as a boy—also seeks his attention in the same summer's glow, and longing.
