Since assuming the role of patron deity at Mikage Shrine, Nanami Momozono and her familiar spirits Tomoe and Mizuki have weathered numerous trials. When the wind god Otohiko summons her to the Divine Assembly in Izumo—the gods" capital—Nanami decides to bring Mizuki along, while Tomoe masquerades as her at school. Yet her true purpose for attending is to uncover the location of Lord Mikage, the shrine"s former deity who has vanished.
Following her Izumo escapades, Nanami encounters Botanmaru, a tengu youth searching for the familiar—tengu‑turned goth idol Shinjirou Kurama. Botanmaru requires Shinjirou, the prince of their clan, to return to Mount Kurama and halt Jirou"s oppressive reign over their hometown. Nanami soon realizes that a far more sinister power is manipulating events on the mountain.
As she grows into her divine responsibilities, Nanami must confront a tengu uprising, navigate her growing affection for Tomoe, and grapple with an enigmatic man linked to both Tomoe"s past and Nanami"s destiny.
