There are people who are satisfied only with first place. Hikari Hakado is one of them – a girl from a poor family, used to achieving everything in life through her own hard work. And, as if by fate, from childhood she has been constantly outshone by Kei Takisima – the heir of a famous clan, literally genius in everything. Their rivalry, which began at age six, brings them to the private school Hakusen, where they don"t think it"s necessary to say "don"t stand out, be like everyone else." On the contrary, gifted and bright personalities are gathered into a special class "A," whose students differ not only in appearance and free schedule, but also use a huge greenhouse as a "club of the chosen." Besides Kei and Hikari, the class also has music‑obsessed twins Jun and Megumi, the director"s son Tadasi, party girl Akira and Ryu, a guy with his own agenda. And the other students regard the "chosen" in various ways – from adoration to envy that turns into hatred, which, in general, hardly concerns them. On this background the fierce rivalry of our heroes develops. Naturally, the manga and series generously use motifs from "Utena," "Orange Club" and "Kare Kano" – lovers and connoisseurs of school romance will easily guess where the plot is headed…
