Takuya Enoki faces a harsh reality as a fifth‑grade student. After his mother died in a fatal car crash just months earlier, he must step up and look after his infant brother Minoru while his father endures the long hours typical of a Japanese office worker.
He will have to give up parts of his childhood to support Minoru. Preparing meals, tidying the house, fretting over chores, and attempting to discipline his brother will fill Takuya"s days, all while neighbors criticize him for Minoru"s frequent crying. Meanwhile, he watches friends enjoy a carefree existence and leisure time. The journey will be hard, full of obstacles, yet through it he might discover what family truly means.
