After the clash at Touka Village and driving out the bandits, Unchou Kan'u, Chouhi Yokutoku, and Shokatsuryou Koumei set their sights on the next leg of their quest. A startling figure appears—a young woman who declares herself Gentoku Ryuubi! Wrongly accused of numerous offenses, she seeks to recover her ancestral weapon, the Chuuzan Seiou sword, and restore her reputation.
To protect Ryuubi, the quartet allies and chase the blade as it passes from holder to holder, yet they can never quite overtake its current bearer. Along the way, Kan'u and her companions encounter several familiar allies who gladly aid their search. Meanwhile, Kan'u and Chouhi discover that family extends beyond blood ties.
