Arthur Louis Zetes, affluent, attractive and prosperous, is no stranger to human greed. Constantly suspicious of those around him, he distrusts humanity; consequently, he requests the ideal maid—a robotic one. Yet his butler cannot procure such a servant because of current technological limits, so he settles for the next best alternative.
Marie Evans, once a child prodigy in martial arts and known for her stoic demeanor, is drowning in debt. She readily accepts an offer to become a maid who behaves like a machine. Arthur, though often blunt with people, finds himself fond of his own robot; this affection in turn touches Marie, who feels inspired by his determination and care.
