Although Hyouma Kunato feels comfortable with Botan Nagatsuki and her tsukumogami family—spirits in objects called marebito—he still pursues revenge. Soon the paper‑umbrella tsukumogami he chased reappears and captures Botan with her university friends, leaving the group in shock. Racing to rescue the one he vowed to protect, Hyouma may need to shift priorities and face new dangers if he wants to keep his promise. The Bureau"s plan involves using the tsukumogami to manipulate both worlds, and the trio"s inquiries hint at a deeper conspiracy that could threaten Hyouma"s quest for vengeance.
