In the year 2242, humanity"s survivors are confined to isolated bubble‑shaped metropolises scattered across ruined terrain. They evade poisonous precipitation and aggressive creatures called Enders, relying on a fresh energy source derived from AO crystals. Those who venture out to harvest these crystals are known as drifters, operating adaptable bipedal mechs with the aid of combat androids called magus.
While surveying distant ruins alongside his exceptionally talented drifter companion Tokio, the aspiring drifter Kanata stumbles upon Noir, a magus that appears preserved in stasis. She awakens independently but lacks memories, rendering her useless to Kanata"s mission. Yet during an Enders onslaught, Kanata realizes Noir possesses extraordinary fighting prowess. Together they set off to uncover Noir"s history and locate Histoire, the legendary city that holds the world"s secrets—a place Kanata has long coveted.
