On a bright morning, Nobita hears rumors of strange events on the Moon. He claims it is caused by a lunar rabbit, yet his classmates dismiss him. Determined to prove himself, he crafts rice cakes shaped like rabbits, and accidentally strikes his teacher, earning a reprimand. He then confides in Doraemon, who reluctantly pulls out the "Divergent View Badge" device and fabricates a lunar environment, ensuring it feels. With animal clay, they fashion Moonbits and head back home. Later, his mother instructs him to fetch Susuki grass for the Moon Viewing Ceremony; during the task he spots a boy, attempts to greet him, but the figure vanishes. The following day, a new pupil named Luca arrives, and Nobita is astonished to realize the newcomer looks exactly like the boy he encountered before.
