Description

Is there life after death? Most people want to believe that there is, and indeed people have been communicating with the spirits of the dead since ancient times. In the past great heroes had to appear there personally, while others were content with the services of mediums; in the 21st century it is much easier—heaven has recruited an entire army of courier girls with talking staffs, who day and night deliver sigofumi—letters from the other world—to recipients. It has long been said that "the dead have no shame," and therefore the things that the deceased write in the only permitted letter after death often greatly surprise the living. More often it is unpleasant, but sometimes it can be different.

The series tells about the everyday work of a celestial postman named Fumiko—a young girl who, together with her talking staff Kanaka, delivers sigofumi without days off or vacations. Fumiko"s job is hard; clients often write "to the village, Grandpa"—go, figure out who the letter is for and whether that person is indeed it, while management always presses with a plan and schedule… And yet according to the contract terms you must kindly convince the addressee to accept the letter, which some people really don"t want. So the celestial courier has to get involved in other people"s lives, even a little, but understand their grief and joys, solve problems… Enough, but are they strangers? After all, Fumiko is not a "hellish girl" and not a heavenly angel. She is one of us.
