For many years the Niflheim Empire and Lucis kingdom have been locked in conflict. With most of Eos under its sway, the empire seeks the power of the sole remaining Crystal housed in Lucis" capital, Insomnia.
To shield his subjects from the relentless advance, King Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII harnessed the Crystal"s energy to encircle Insomnia with a protective enchantment. Concurrently, he formed an elite force called the Kingsglaive; drawing strength from the monarch, they defend Lucis" borders against the empire and any other hostile forces.
Among them is Nyx, dubbed "The Hero" by his comrades for his boldness and self‑claimed duty to protect all. Yet his ego leads him to defy his commander"s orders, earning a demotion. He now patrols the city gates, but change looms when rumors surface that Regis intends to negotiate a truce with their sworn adversaries.
