Musashi shares a home with his father after his mother departed three years earlier. He holds onto the hope that she will return. One day, they relocate from Tokyo to a rural village. Musashi despises the countryside and begs his father for a return to the city, wondering whether his mother could locate him in their new surroundings.
Soon after settling, Musashi spots a fisherman using a decoy to catch bass. Intrigued by lure angling, he learns much from the man and discovers that his maternal grandfather was a renowned bass champion. Musashi believes fishing might guide him to his missing mother. He displays remarkable skill in lure fishing and travels worldwide chasing extraordinary fish species. Through this pursuit, Musashi grows to appreciate life amid nature. The quiet streams and misty mornings become his companions, replacing the neon buzz of Tokyo and peaceful days everywhere.
