Kenji Seki's everyday routine changes only slightly. Each dawn he walks his dog to the shoreline hoping to catch a glimpse of classmate Kahori Harukawa, who is surfing. Afterwards he meets his neighbor and childhood friend Natsuki Suzuura, and together they stroll to school. In effect he enjoys a perfect life where the sole concern is how to finally confess his affection to Kahori.
His dog, a spry terrier named Piko, accompanies him each time, and the salty breeze becomes part of his morning ritual.
The monotony of Kenji's days shatters when a mysterious transfer student arrives. Ryouichi Kyougoku, claiming psychic powers, possesses the charm and popularity Kenji has long coveted. Soon Kahori begins to develop feelings for Ryouichi, while Natsuki grows distant whenever Kenji attempts to discuss his emotions.
