Hatsuki attends high school and lives with her sister Hatsumi, whom she adores. When Hatsumi turns sixteen, a sudden green glow engulfs her and she vanishes right before Hatsuki's eyes. With the aid of a creature that looks like a plump baby chick, Hatsuki follows her sister into the vast halls of the ancient Great Library—a collection of worlds contained within books. Hatsumi is missing, so the quest to find her beloved begins, taking Hatsuki on a journey through one book after another across countless realms everlasting and beyond.
