Keita Aono is a typical high‑schooler who enjoys discussing military tech and classmates with his friends. One day he is thrilled to see a new transfer, his childhood friend Hinoki Sai, in the same class. When Keita attempts to meet Hinoki after school, he unintentionally slips into Bottom World—an underground amusement park that was shut down because of an unexplained incident.
While wandering through the park, Keita discovers Hinoki piloting a bizarre robot. She has come for Akamatsu Industries, which is partnered with the clandestine global group Mode Warp to probe mysterious violent events. Together inside the robot, they fight off the park"s attractions that have turned hostile and animate. They cannot escape until a man who can transform, known as "Betterman," joins the fray. Confronted with an unknown foe and a host of strange tech, Keita allies with Akamatsu Industries to battle the entity called "Algernon."
