Rail Wars! unfolds in a parallel world where the Japanese state still governs the country"s rail network. The stability of governmental oversight lets the railway thrive.
Naoto Takayama dreams of joining Japan National Railways to secure a comfortable future. To do so he enrolls in its rigorous training, where candidates must prove their expertise on locomotives and readiness for any unforeseen situation.
There he meets fellow trainees: the athletic Aoi Sakura, the perpetually ravenous Sho Iwaizumi, and the encyclopedic Haruka Komi. Together they strive to endure their apprenticeship, confronting purse‑snatchers, bomb threats, and the looming threat of the radical "RJ" faction that seeks to privatize the rail system.
