During the final summer of their elementary years, four companions resolve to confront a bravery trial in the nearby cemetery. Prior to the challenge, Haruka Kaminogi strives one final time to rescue Yuu Gotou from his domineering mother. In the process, Haruka experiences an odd sight of azure frost and then a towering silver‑haired figure. Subsequently, a comparable vision manifests at the cemetery for Haruka and her friends as they attempt to flee what they believe are apparitions.
Unbeknownst to the children, the figures that materialized were Dragon Soldiers—an elite force from the realm of La'cryma. The soldiers journeyed into this world to claim the "Dragon Torque," an entity they deem their sole salvation. Yet both the Dragon Soldiers and Haruka are astonished when they discover that the Dragon Torque is, in fact, Haruka herself. She attempts to escape from the soldiers upon realizing her only beacon of hope—the enigmatic silver‑haired man who declares himself to be another incarnation of Yuu.
