Hiroshi Shiba is an exceptional race car driver whose father was killed after the unearthing of a Bronze Bell from an ancient society. The Bronze Bell is desired by Queen Himika, who hails from that bygone era of the Yamatai Kingdom and seeks to seize it to rule the planet. Hiroshi inherits a handful of relics from his father that allow him to transform into the massive mecha fighter known as Steel Jeeg. With these powers, the implanted mind of his father in a computer and the support of Miwa 'Micchi' Uzuki, they embark on a mission to thwart Himika's global conquest against all odds.
