In the future, humanity, having exploited nature blindly for centuries, fell victim to its own pride. A terrible ecological catastrophe struck the Earth; once-thriving industrial civilizations turned to dust, and the planet's surface was covered by a gigantic Sea of Forests that released poisonous spores into the atmosphere.
The surviving people must live in the shadow of the forest and its monstrous insect-like inhabitants, trying not to allow the spread of harmful vegetation. The Peaceful Valley of Winds is one of the realms that emerged from the ruins of former states. The valley's residents adore their kind ruler and his daughter Navsikaya, an unusual girl who can communicate with the giant insects of the forest—strange products of a disrupted ecosystem.
But the tranquil existence of the Valley of Winds is disrupted when the small country becomes a pawn in the games of large, warlike neighbors fighting over the remaining precious natural resources of the planet. Nevertheless, Navsikaya's hidden potential still has to be revealed, and the young princess may succeed in changing the fate of the world…
