Dan Bashin, a lively teen celebrated for his fierce tactics in the card battle game Battle Spirits, earned the nickname "Clash King." One day a strange girl with green hair whisked him away to the mystical realm of Grand Rolo, where quarrels are resolved through card duels.
Arriving there, Dan is instantly caught in a clash between the kingdom"s imperial forces and its subjugated people. He discovers he is destined as a "bearer of cores" light," chosen to free the land from its tyrant ruler. Joined by a youthful boy named Zungurii and an odd witch called Magisa, Dan journeys across Grand Rolo, meeting other destined fighters in card contests.
His journey, filled with unexpected allies and looming threats, tests his resolve at every turn. As the title of Clash King spreads across Grand Rolo, hidden truths from the kingdom"s colonial history surface.
