Fourteen years after vanquishing the immortal fighter Himuro Genma and stopping the Shogun of Darkness"s wicked schemes, Kibagami Jubei keeps wandering across Japan as a masterless swordsman. On his travels he encounters Shigure, a priestess who has never seen the world beyond her village. Yet when a band of demons razes that village and slays its inhabitants, Jubei becomes the main quarry after he obtains the Dragon Jewel—a gem of mysterious origin. Meanwhile, Shigure—together with monk Dakuan and a youthful thief called Tsubute—heads to the town of Yagyu. With two demon factions now hunting Shigure, Dakuan must again enlist Jubei"s aid to shield the Priestess of Light.
