First‑year student Takahiko Urino aims to craft an original piece for the campus paper, Furnado Monthly, in the heart of campus gossip. With support from his girlfriend Yuki Osanai—a seemingly ordinary second‑year—Urino persuades the editorial club to allow him a distinctive investigation. Minor blazes have turned into repeated arson across several dormitories and faculty buildings, and Urino plans to forecast future hotspots and uncover the perpetrator. Yet his fixation on the mystery sometimes harms the club"s image, and strains friendships, and Osanai may dislike her boyfriend"s rising pride too.
At the same time, another plain‑looking student Jougorou Kobato spends dull days with his girlfriend Tokiko Nakamaru. But when he sees a blaze linked to an earlier incident and Osanai herself, Kobato slips back into his old, atypical ways to uncover the truth.
