After seeing his mother die when he was very young, Uryuu Kamihate grew disenchanted with deities, labeling belief in them as complete absurdity and abandoned any hope of divine intervention. Because of this conviction, he plans to become a physician, dedicating most of his days to preparing for admission into Kyoto University's esteemed medical program. To advance his education, Uryuu seeks a quieter refuge away from the chaotic orphanage where he was raised to pursue a future of healing and knowledge. Chidori Amagami, the chief priest of the Amagami Shrine, grants him permission to reside at the shrine's household. However, Uryuu must share dwelling with Chidori's three granddaughters—Yae, Yuna, and Asahi—who serve as shrine maidens. Additionally, Chidori imposes a requirement: Uryuu must wed one sister to secure the shrine's continuity and inherit its leadership. Yet, Uryuu's ambitions and worldview clash with the sisters' convictions, making this daunting arrangement appear utterly unfeasible.
