Lonely Touka Mimori is transported to a different realm together with his classmates, where he gains the ability to apply debilitating status effects—such as paralysis or poison—to foes. Unfortunately, these skills are deemed ineffective because of their low hit probability, so Touka is labeled an E‑rank hero. The situation worsens when Vicius, the deity who brought them to this world, announces that the lowest‑ranked hero will be eliminated so as not to impede those with superior talent. The goddess's cruel decree fuels his resolve to challenge destiny.
Sent to a perilous zone, Touka confronts death when a minotaur‑like beast surrounds him. In a last effort to survive, he employs his supposedly useless skill and discovers it succeeds nearly every time. With the power to incapacitate any monster blocking his path, Touka vows to hunt down the goddess who abandoned him and seek vengeance. With each strike, he feels the weight of his newfound strength crushing the monster.
