Adult reality has delivered its share of disappointments to the 28‑year‑old novelist Sumireko Ogawa, once hailed as a literary prodigy. Confronted by editors' hostility, she finds it difficult to get her manuscripts accepted and to advance the draft of her latest novel. When Sumireko begins to accept a dull routine as a bookstore clerk, she is abruptly thrust into a world of enigmas after reading verses from an odd volume, and suddenly reverts to childhood. Sumireko is elated to have reclaimed her spark and youthful vigor. Yet her co‑worker Ren Adashino, a specialist in the supernatural, cautions that this regression will ultimately end her life unless she studies additional passages from the tome. Reluctantly consenting to restore her adult self, Sumireko agrees to aid Ren and his sister Oto in their ghostly inquiries. Although Ren"s motives remain vague to Sumireko, the young woman resolves to transform her newfound thrilling adventures into enduring literary triumph for the world of readers worldwide and future generations in literature.
