After their father's sudden passing, Ichirou Kuga unexpectedly assumes the role of guardian for his two younger siblings. He juggles rent, utilities, and the daily needs of his siblings while hoping to secure a contract with a major publisher. To keep finances afloat, he rents rooms in the apartment building he inherited and devotes himself full‑time to drawing shōjo manga. Yet his books sell poorly, his assistants have recently quit, and looming deadlines threaten to overwhelm him.
Just when the pressure seems unbearable, a highly skilled newcomer named Shiori Goshiki steps in as his assistant. Her talent steadies the situation, and progress begins to materialize. Then an odd supernatural mishap between Ichirou and Shiori triggers her to proclaim they are engaged.
This seemingly trivial declaration throws Ichirou"s world into chaos. He must now navigate this strange new relationship with the enigmatic girl while still pursuing his artistic ambitions and meeting the responsibilities that lie on his shoulders.
