Ittoki Sakuraba cannot fathom why his mother, uncle, and childhood friend Kousetsu are so preoccupied with guarding him. His world feels like a stage, with every step watched. Kousetsu stalks and watches him relentlessly, ignoring his privacy and concentrating solely on keeping him safe at all times. The relentless scrutiny only becomes understandable when a charming second‑year, Satomi Tsubaki, invites Ittoki on a date. What starts as a harmless gesture soon turns sinister when Ittoki visits her home; she intends to kill him, and she is not acting alone. She is a master of deception. Ironically, the people who rescue him are his uncle and Kousetsu—dressed in their ominous ninja garb.
When Ittoki is brought to safety, his mother discloses the real story: he is the 19th heir of the Iga ninja clan, and the rival Koga clan has marked him for death. To defend himself against this looming danger, Ittoki must train at Japan"s sole remaining ninja school: the Kokuten Ninja Academy.
