Following the conclusion of the debut, Kate and her Doll Emilico have formally taken up residence in Shadows House. Yet they remain under the watchful eye of the Star Bearers, an elite cadre responsible for the children's wing. To break free from their scrutiny and the grim tactics employed to enforce loyalty, Kate and Emilico must carefully choose whom to trust while striving to join the Star Bearers. At the same time, the Star Bearers face their own difficulties. A shadowy figure in a robe, known as Master Robe, has infiltrated and prowls the children's wing. Initially considered harmless, Master Robe"s presence soon sparks incidents that threaten the Dolls" safety—each incident implicating the suspect. Determined to restore her standing, Kate resolves to unravel the mystery on her own. However, with scant evidence and a long list of suspects, tracking Master Robe and uncovering the motive behind the attacks on the mansion turns out to be far more daunting than she expected.
