One year after their first encounter, Kazuya Kinoshita and Chizuru Mizuhara continue to meet regularly via the rental girlfriend platform. Yet Chizuru admits she is prepared to resign from her current job in order to chase her real calling—acting. Though he wants to keep their bond, Kazuya chooses to back her ambition.
When Kazuya attends Chizuru"s highly anticipated debut performance, he is struck by her skill and the way she holds the audience. Simultaneously, he feels sorrowful at the prospect that a renowned director present will undoubtedly discover her.
Later, Chizuru reveals that the director selected another actress, criticizing her own lack of talent. Angered for her, Kazuya vows to rent her out weekly to provide financial support. However, the lingering presence of his former girlfriend Mami Nanami for unclear reasons clouds his certainty, leaving his commitment to Chizuru in doubt in the days that followed of their journey.
