In 1923, a vampiric emergency swept through Tokyo. Sparked by the clandestine circulation of "Ascra," a synthetic blood substitute, the number of vampires surged rapidly across the metropolis. Acting on orders from Lieutenant General Sounosuke Nakajima, Special Forces Unit 16 assembled the city's vampires into a covert task force called Code Zero.
At its helm stands Colonel Yoshinobu Maeda. Charged with uncovering the source of the Ascra racket and eliminating vampires, he faces mounting pressure to deliver results as criticism threatens to dissolve the unit. Compounding this, the vampires in Code Zero struggle to master their new powers and identities now that they have shed humanity. With society turned against them, the squad must either tame the crisis or risk succumbing to their own demonic impulses.
Their conflicts mirror threat, forcing each member to confront demons and fear. Only by uniting their strengths can they hope to restore balance before darkness consumes all for good.
