Officer Kamoi Subame of the Japanese Self‑Defense Forces retires and begins looking for work as a civilian. However, due to her "special" preferences it turns out not to be so simple. One day on the way home she remembers how, a year and a half ago in winter, she saw a little Russian girl playing in the yard with her mother. "Why not go there again?" she thinks.
