Yuu Nagami, an aspiring light‑novel writer, habitually submits his stories to contests yet never secures a prize. Though he repeatedly fails, each loss fuels his resolve.
When he reviews the latest competition"s winner list, he sees that a name—Chikai Towano—has swept the awards. The revelation shocks him, but he recognizes the opportunity to learn from a seasoned author. He soon learns that the pseudonym belongs to his own sister, Suzuka—the most unlikely author he could imagine. Suzuka cannot disclose her true identity and implores Yuu to assume the role for her.
Yuu consents on one condition: he will continue masquerading as Chikai until his own novel is released. Until then, he exploits the alias to sharpen his skills and forge connections with fellow writers and new acquaintances. Through this charade, Yuu attends workshops and exchanges manuscripts, refining his voice while keeping the secret that Chikai is Suzuka.
