The events unfold in the town of Onomiti, located in Hiroshima Prefecture in the year 20XX. A mass disappearance of fish is occurring in the seas, and only whales can still be found in the oceans. The Ministry of Fisheries decides on an experiment—to create universal fish farms in space. For this purpose, the town of Onomiti begins training space fishermen. Along with men, women are also accepted here. And so six newly minted fisherwomen take up the task.
