The continent of Atlatan has once more been swallowed by the embers of conflict following a gruesome incident called the Great Hall Tragedy. An event that should have been a jubilant celebration to cement peace between the Fantasia Union and the Factory Alliance—the nuptials of Sir Alexis Douse and Lady Marrine Kreische—turned into catastrophe. While the bride and groom progressed down the aisle, a sudden surge of "Chaos," a shadowy force from another realm that taints the land and summons monsters and demons, erupted. From this maelstrom emerged the Demon Lord of Diabolos, a malevolent entity that instantly slayed the archdukes of both factions, crushing any prospect of harmony.
Unable to avert this calamity, Siluca Meletes, a mage from the Alliance, traverses the Chaos‑ridden countryside to apprentice under a renowned sorcerer. When soldiers allied with the Federation intercept her, she is rescued by Theo Cornaro, a youthful fighter bearing an enigmatic "Crest," a sigil that grants its bearer the power to repel Chaos. Unbound by any particular allegiance, Theo seeks to rise to the rank of Lord so he may free his hometown of Sistina from its despotic ruler and the spreading Chaos. Moved by this righteous aim, Siluca binds a magical pact with Theo, and together they set out to restore equilibrium to their ravaged realm. Their quest will test their resolve, forging an unlikely alliance that could turn the tide against the encroaching darkness. Together, they must confront the remnants of the Great Hall Tragedy and reclaim hope for Atlatan.
