The narrative centers on Nagisa Yukiai, a high school student residing in a coastal village. She has long trusted her grandmother's tale that words harbor spirits, known as 'kotodama' (word spirit). One afternoon she wanders into a long‑abandoned FM studio. Spurred by curiosity, she adopts the voice of a disc jockey and begins broadcasting. Unexpectedly, her transmission reaches an unanticipated listener in a distant town, altering the course of both their lives forever.
