Chuuta Kokonose grew up as an orphan, living with his aunt. For as long as he can remember a voice has whispered in his mind; otherwise, he was an ordinary boy—until one day a peculiar object trailed him home and whisked him away to a realm teeming with strange beings. He found himself at a space police station, where Rein Brickke, the chief of the Solar System Division, informed him that a computer had selected him as a potential recruit for the force. Misuzu Sonokata, a girl from Chuuta"s school with an angelic face and fiery temper who turns out to be one of Brickke"s subordinates, dismissed him as unfit for the job. Shocked at first, Chuuta listened to his inner voice and resolved to take the aptitude test, determined to prove Misuzu wrong and claim his place.
