After relocating because of family matters, Suzuko Homura returns to her long hometown, wistful about the joyful childhood she shared with Chinatsu Morikawa. Bound by a friendship vow, those days stay bright in Suzuko's memory, yet she has lost touch with Chinatsu during their separation. Eager to begin anew, Suzuko strives to leave the past behind and make new friends at school, but she finds it difficult. At the same time, Chinatsu works several shifts to support her family while continuing her studies, and mounting pressure soon overwhelms her. In their separate circumstances, both girls start playing the popular card game WIXOSS and find out they have been chosen as Selectors—players whose memories are now symbolized by gold coins and must duel other Selectors to earn five of them. Guided by their LRIG avatar cards, which are crafted from the user's memories, they learn that sporadic participation in duels or losing all coins will lead to a bleak outcome. Determined to safeguard what matters, Suzuko and Chinatsu gear up for upcoming battles and fight to reclaim themselves. Their journey intertwines hope, resilience, and the promise that friendship can endure even the toughest trials together.
