Years later, after the planet has been shattered by nuclear and biological conflict, a youthful scavenger—known as a Junker—roams a quarantined, deserted metropolis and stumbles upon a service robot that dutifully waits for patrons in the rooftop planetarium of an old department store. Despite his practical mindset, he assists the robot in fixing its projector, a choice that will alter their destinies for both.
