Ren Homura recently returned to his birthplace Kaminohara, yet he struggles to recall much of the years spent there beyond hazy recollections. When he picks up his mobile phone, which had been sent to a repair shop, he discovers that an enigmatic title called Monster Strike has appeared on it. Ignorant of its origin or intent, Ren opens the app, an act that will alter his destiny when a peculiar man suddenly confronts him.
Now confined to the roof of his high school, oddly labeled as a "stage," Ren is stunned when the stranger summons an authentic creature from the game, one capable of harming a human. His sole chance to survive is to call upon the dragon Oragon, who promises Ren that it will defeat the rival beast. Regrettably, Oragon turns out to be a minuscule dragon that proves utterly ineffective! The city"s quiet streets and familiar faces offer little comfort, as the past remains a blur. The repair technician had been vague about any changes to his device, leaving Ren perplexed today.
